Marilyn W. Hollier, MS, CPP, CHPA
Marilyn is a Staff Consultant. She has been in the security/law enforcement field for over 33 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Education from Southern Illinois University and a master’s in Human Resources/Urban Studies from Georgia State University. She has been a Certified Protection Professional since 1996 and a Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator since 1997.
Marilyn’s professional experience includes seven years with the Emory University Police Department and nine years as Assistant Director and Acting Director of Public Safety at Grady Health System in Atlanta, Georgia. She retired after 17 years as the Director of Security Services at the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers.
Under Marilyn’s leadership, UMHHC Security Services doubled in size, expanded its services to the hospital community, became an irreplaceable partner of the healthcare team and developed one of the best hospital security programs in the nation. The department won the coveted IAHSS “Lindberg Bell” award for the most advanced healthcare security department nationally in 2008 and again in 2014.
Marilyn was named one of the Top 30 voices in healthcare security by Security Management magazine in 2015. She has been actively involved with IAHSS and ASIS International for many years and has served in many volunteer leadership positions.
