Tracy L. Hahn, MCJ

Tracy L. Hahn earned her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from The Ohio State University and a Masters’ Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Tiffin University.  She began her law enforcement career with The Ohio State University Police Department and then joined the Upper Arlington Police Division.  She served as a Field Training Officer, Detective Sergeant, Patrol Sergeant, and Training Sergeant.  As a Lieutenant she was in command of the Support Services Bureau.  Tracy was sworn in as the 8th Chief of Police for the Upper Arlington Police Division, the first female to hold this position.  After retiring from Upper Arlington, Tracy rejoined law enforcement a short time later with The Ohio State University Police Division as the Deputy Chief of Police.  She retired from the Ohio State University after 32 years in law enforcement.

Ms. Hahn has experience with municipal and university policing, risk assessments, staffing allocation, school safety and security, and the accreditation process for law enforcement through CALEA which is the Commission on the Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies.  She has served as a committee/board member for the Homeland Security Advisory Council, the Franklin County Chiefs Association, the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police Advisory Services Policy Committee, Kiwanis, Public Safety Advisory Committee at OSU, and is a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio. She has served on the Advisory Council of the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police for promotional assessments and is an assessor for this process.

At the Ohio State University, Tracy was the Homeland Security division commander for large events.  She has worked with the Board of Education to secure nine schools and improve the safety for staff and students and taught criminal justice courses at Harrison College for several years as an Adjunct Professor.  Tracy is a graduate of the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police’s Police Executive Leadership College and the Certified Law Enforcement Executive course.  She also completed the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety’s School of Police Staff and Command.  She is a graduate of the 264th Session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy.
